Park Relay Privacy Policy

Park Relay (“we,” “us,” or “our”) provides a mobile app that helps apartment residents find parking information, receive property announcements, and send courtesy alerts about vehicles. This policy describes how we collect, use, and share information when you use the Park Relay resident app and related services.

Information we collect

Depending on how you use Park Relay, we may collect:

• Account and profile information — phone number (for sign-in), name, optional contact email, home apartment assignment, vehicle details you enter, and notification preferences.
• Location information — when you allow it, we use your device location to show nearby properties on a map and, if you enable proximity reminders for a favorited property, to send local notifications when you are near that property. Location used for proximity reminders may be processed on your device and in the background only while that feature is enabled.
• Courtesy alerts and evidence — messages, photos, or videos you choose to attach when sending or receiving courtesy alerts, plus related metadata (such as timestamps and property context).
• Communications from your property — broadcast messages and inbox items sent by authorized property administrators through Park Relay.
• Device and app data — push notification tokens (FCM), app version, device type, crash reports, and usage analytics (for example, property views, favorites, share actions, and sign-in events). Analytics events use property identifiers, not your name or phone number in event parameters.
• Registration assist activity — if you use in-app registration assistance, we may record that you opened or used assist features for a property (not the contents of external parking portals).

How we use information

We use the information above to:

• Authenticate you and maintain your account
• Show property parking rules, instructions, photos, and contact details
• Deliver courtesy alerts, broadcasts, and push notifications you opt into
• Operate proximity reminders and deep links to properties
• Help you complete parking registration workflows you start in the app
• Protect against abuse, enforce community guidelines, and comply with law
• Monitor reliability, diagnose crashes, and improve the app

How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information in these situations:

• Service providers — we use Google Firebase and related Google Cloud services (authentication, database, cloud functions, file storage, messaging, analytics, and crash reporting) and Google Maps / Places to operate the app. These providers process data on our behalf under their own terms and privacy policies.
• Other residents and property context — courtesy alerts you send are delivered to the intended recipient. Property administrators may send broadcasts to residents linked to their building. Your phone number is not shown to other residents in routine app use.
• Legal and safety — when required by law, to respond to lawful requests, or to protect users, properties, or Park Relay.

Your choices

• Permissions — you can deny or later revoke location, notification, camera, microphone, and photo library access in your device settings. Some features will not work without the relevant permission.
• Proximity reminders — you can turn these off in the app and disable background location for Park Relay in system settings.
• Profile — you can update certain profile fields in the app.

Data retention and deletion

We retain information for as long as needed to provide the service, resolve disputes, enforce policies, and meet legal obligations. You may request deletion of your account and associated personal data by contacting us at the email below. We will verify your request and delete or anonymize data unless we must keep it for legal, security, or operational reasons.

Security

We use industry-standard measures, including encrypted transport (HTTPS) and Firebase security rules, to protect data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure.

Children

Park Relay is intended for adults managing apartment parking. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Contact us if you believe a child has provided us data.

International users

Park Relay is operated from the United States. If you use the app from another country, your information may be processed in the U.S. and other countries where our service providers operate.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the revised version at this URL and update the effective date above. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the updated policy.
